Our aim is to reshape the perception of space from 'distant and complex' to 'familiar and thrilling.' To achieve this, we envisioned an experience where learning naturally unfolds while enjoying the journey. Through in-depth interviews with parents of young children, we've noticed that people's intrigue with space often starts by pondering simple questions about the world and becoming captivated by storytelling elements found in manga and anime. As a result, we conceived the website's overhaul as a 'dramatic role-playing game-like experience' that seamlessly bridges these points, sparking interest in JAXA's endeavors. We've integrated dynamic UI design, evoking the sensation of watching a sci-fi movie on a video streaming platform, intertwined the history of space activities into a compelling narrative, and harnessed PWA technology to gamify the learning process for users. Beyond merely transferring and redesigning over 10,000 pages, we've crafted a user experience where comprehension and empathy for human space activities unfold naturally and joyfully through shared excitement.

Moreover, we hope to inspire users who share our understanding and empathy to consider using space for business or research. As part of this initiative, we've created a dedicated section aimed at businesses and research institutions to provide tailored information. Additionally, we've carefully structured the content hierarchy to guide readers toward deeper insights as they navigate through our content.

A scheme that fosters a sense of unity with users

In our commitment to reducing the distance between users and fostering a sense of unity, we've placed meticulous focus on the design of the CMS (Content Management System) for consistent content updates. We've adopted the "Content Fields" feature introduced in Movable Type 7, enabling centralized management of update areas to ensure timely delivery of essential information. Alongside prioritizing update frequency, we've also established an operational structure dedicated to upholding content quality. This entails real-time updates to keep pace with the ever-evolving field of space activities, collaboration with specialized writers and Japanese-to-English translators in the space domain, and a clear division of roles between routine tasks and site enhancements. We are continually enhancing our operational framework to keep users engaged and returning to the site.
