UX design

We conducted workshops in collaboration with relevant parties and users for each of the four key services: 'Provision of Office and Research Development Spaces,' 'Rental of Meeting Rooms and Halls,' 'Support for Startups,' and 'Platform Activities.' These workshops involved interviews with related parties and users, allowing us to collectively analyze user behavior and sentiments.

Workshops

Gathering insights from hearings: assessing the current state and identifying challenges

We identified key points in the users' thoughts and behaviors:
Interest in Kyoto Research Park: Users want to get to know Kyoto Research Park better through interactions with tenant companies and other supporting facilities.
Seeking Business Growth: Users are looking for a new environment that can facilitate the growth of their businesses.
Attracted to Connections: Users find it appealing to establish connections with individuals from industrial, academic, and public research institutions.
Additionally, we uncovered some challenges:
Lack of Awareness: Some users weren't aware of activities like events and networking when they visited tenant companies in the past.
Initial Lack of Understanding: Initially, some users had limited understanding of the types of activities happening at the park. Selective Interest: Users tend to gather information related to their own business genre, showing less interest in different genres.

Visualizing user behavior as concept diagrams
and incorporating them into website design

Visualizing the flow of user behavior, as identified in the customer journey map, allowed us to gain an overview and establish priorities in website design. This visualization also facilitated the discovery of critical content. Furthermore, it enabled us to align project objectives and priorities with precision during discussions with the client and project participants.

Bringing 'The City Where Innovation Is Born' to life through an immersive website experience

Culminating from this research, we solidified three core project concepts: 'Enabling an Immersive Experience of 'The City Where Innovation Is Born',' 'Transforming into an Engaging Digital Information Hub,' and 'Efficiently Structuring Digital Content for Streamlined Operations.' With these concepts as our guiding principles, we proceeded to build the website.

Creating a style guide for efficient development and operations

We managed numerous layouts as components from the planning stage, implemented componentization even in HTML coding, and created a style guide. As a result, we achieved significant efficiency gains by constructing over 90% of approximately 300 static pages without the need for additional design work, following the process of structuring followed by HTML coding.
