Taiwan Trade Center

Took charge of PR measures using VR at the "TAIWAN EXPO in EUROPE" event site in Berlin

TAIWAN EXPO is a large-scale exhibition event where visitors can experience Taiwan's world-class industries.
For the Taiwan Expo held in Berlin in 2024, TAM was in charge of planning, production, and operation of an exhibition space where visitors can experience VR as a partner of the Taiwan Trade Center, which operates the Taiwan Excellence Awards.

A new virtual theme park was built on VR for the exhibition. We created an attraction for the Drabon boat race, a folkloric event of the Dragon Boat Festival in Taiwan, and allowed participants to enjoy and experience VR technology.

An international dragon boat race being held in Taiwan to be enjoyed remotely in VR.

The TAIWAN EXPO in EUROPE was held in June 2024, when an international dragon boat race was being held in Taiwan.
Therefore, we developed game content in VR to allow visitors to experience the dragon boat race from the distant venue of Berlin, Germany.

The virtual dragon boat racing venue was created as a new world on VRChat, a social VR platform, with a modern "smart city" design to match the Expo's theme.
A building in the image of Telekom Hauptstadtrepräsentanz, the real venue, is also available in the VR space.

We have constructed an interactive racing game that allows players to move their bodies while aiming to make the UI as simple and easy as possible so that even first-time VR users can enjoy the game.
Multiple players board a boat and row the oars at the same time. The team that finishes first wins in a race against the computer.

Also in charge of coordinating the hands-on experience to be conducted on site.

TAM was also in charge of coordinating everything needed to implement and operate the hands-on experience.
TAM arranged the headsets, cords, and backup PCs required for VR. The gaming PCs, which require high specifications, were prepared by the Taiwan Trade Center after informing them of the necessary requirements.

Since the hands-on event was to be held in Germany, TAM assigned staff who were fluent in English and German and who could guide the visitors through the VRChat system.
Using VRChat, we arranged for the appropriate members of the team, expanding connections with people we had met virtually.

Many people enjoyed the event and made new connections.

Many people participated in the event and enjoyed the VR world we created. Some of them were German influencers with over 1 million followers.

The scene of the game being played was also shown on a monitor at the venue. It was as if everyone there was watching the sport, not only those who were actually playing.
Through this fun experience, participants were able to interact and communicate with each other.

Through the hands-on experience with VR, we were able to connect with a wide range of people, from general participants who had come to observe the exhibition to business people.
Although VR is an activity in a virtual space, there was definitely a warmth and connection between people there, and the event offered the possibility of further development in the future.

TAM team involved in the project

For the exhibition, the scope of support was wide-ranging, including not only the construction of an interactive VR space, but also the setup of the local exhibition space, communication with participants, and PR support. For this reason, the following specialized teams worked together and responded to the project by leveraging their respective strengths.

TAM's Taiwan team

TAM was in charge of communicating with the client, Taiwan Trade Center, in Chinese. We also participated in the creation of the virtual space and supervised it from a Taiwanese cultural perspective.

TAM's Design Technology Team
